The Curious Case of Mike Rose

After seeing it on Christmas Day, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button quickly became one of our family’s favorite movies.

In the movie, Benjamin Button is born as a (very ugly) baby, but one with the characteristics of a 90+ year old man.  Throughout time, he ages backwards, getting younger and better looking all the time.  He finally learns to walk at age 7, after a real struggle to get stronger and with the help of some Hallelujahs.

Mike’s current story isn’t so dissimilar.  Since his immune system has been wiped out, he will have the immune history of a newborn – none to speak of.  He’ll need all his immunizations again!  Wild, huh?  He’s pretty weak, and also skinnier than I’ve ever known him, but getting stronger every day.

So, sure, Benjamin doesn’t look too good in the picture shown here, but just remember: he turns into Brad Pitt.
