Daily Roundup

Hi, everybody! Today a bag of Cisplatin in the evening marked Mike’s final chemotherapy, and we are all relieved to be done with our fifth and final day of treatment. The weekend brings a regimen of anti-nausea medication and hydration as Mike’s counts begin to drop as we prepare for Monday’s transplant.

Today Kelly, the youngest of the seven Rose children, came in to UH to visit her brother, accompanied by Michele, my dad’s “womb-mate” and twin sister. It is good to have visitors. We are also continually grateful for visits by CL and Laurie Rose, as well as the dedication, energy, and talent of University Hospital’s nursing staff— including and especially Linda, Dad’s “Slumdog Millionaire” nurse who is going on a second date tonight with a cute doctor and can’t wait to tell us how it goes next week. (Go, Linda!)

The patient doesn’t have much of an appetite, but he did consume no less than twelve orange and banana popsicles at press time. I would say this is a record for him, but my instincts are telling me otherwise.
