What to expect this week: The first few days will be among the best to visit, if indeed you are interested in doing so. We will post information how to do that shortly! We will also be explaining a breakdown of the three-week process so you can feel informed as we go.
On the first day, Mike arrived at the hospital downtown at 7:30am and was getting a hydration IV shortly after. The hydration helps with the flushing of the kidneys in preparation for chemo. Also received anti-nausea medication. At 5:30pm, the first bag of chemo was administered into the drip. It’s Cisplatin (made of platinum) – a commonly used chemo. Finished that at 8:15pm! The big event of the day was moving to a bigger and nicer room: nice view of some flowers and Case Western’s Peter B. Lewis Business School. Had Dave’s Cosmic subs with the girls and CL and Laurie and have been walking the halls. Feeling good.
Wednesday is Mike Rose Bobblehead Day. First 20,000 guests. (The head is so big it tips over the body).
